About Us

Salt & Light Foundation was established by private funds in 2017 as the Seah Family Trust,

to provide financial support for children from under-resourced communities with medical and education needs.

In the course of our engagement with these communities, our eyes and hearts were opened to their brokenness and struggles, and we realised the efficiency and advantage of pooling resources with individuals who share our vision, to increase the depth and breadth of our programmes.

Along with this vision, we recognised the necessity of developing a sustainable framework for accountability and transparency, and thus decided to register ourselves as a charity in Singapore for greater accountability and sustainability.

Today, Salt & Light Foundation is privileged to carry out our mission by supporting several non-profit organisations, both in and outside of Singapore.

Behind The Name

“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again?  It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.  You are the light of the world.  A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds

and glorify your Father in heaven”

Matthew 5:13-16
